Community Learning Mini-Grant

Closed

Support for after-school and community learning initiatives.

Overview

The Community Learning Mini Grant supports after school and summer activities that extend learning beyond the classroom. Nonprofits, libraries, and school affiliated clubs may request support for tutoring, reading circles, service learning, arts integration, healthy movement, and more.

Program goals:
- Strengthen core skills in reading, writing, math, and problem solving
- Build belonging through inclusive, welcoming spaces
- Connect youth with mentors, community partners, and positive peer groups

Funding scope:
- Typical awards range from a few hundred dollars to just over one thousand dollars
- Funds may cover curriculum materials, art supplies, healthy snacks, modest transportation, or instructor time as appropriate for nonprofits

Application tips:
- Describe who will participate, how often, and where the program will run
- Explain how you will know the program is working, using simple and practical measures
- Share how the program will continue after this grant ends

Accountability:
- Keep simple attendance records and short notes on activities
- Submit a one page summary and two photos or quotes from participants at the end of the cycle

Partnerships among organizations are encouraged. When we work together, young people benefit and programs last longer.
